PRESS NOTE


Range level JCC-cum-Welfare and Crime Meeting

 

Range level JCC-cum-Welfare and Crime Meeting held today on 31/07/2017 at Police Lines, Mandi.  During the JCC-cum-Welfare meeting issues relating to welfare, working of police department, any difficulty being faced by police officials in execution of police duties, etc. grievances of police officials discussed /heard. Necessary directions were given for its solutions. After that crime meeting held with the SsP and other officers of Central Range districts. Overall crime rate has been decreased by 6.03% at Range level during the year 2017 in comparison to year 2016.  Law & Order situation remained peace full during this period.

During the meeting main emphasis has been given on the following points:-

1.      Detection work under ND&PS Act.

2.      Traffic accidents.

3.      Missing children.

 

In order to uproot the menace of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances from the state all SsP have been directed to give more attention and launch special drives to nab the kingpins/peddlers involved in the smuggling of ND&PS. During the period w.e.f 01/01/2017 to 30/06/2017  total 188 cases have been detected up to 30/06/2017 and contrabands i.e. Charas =77.898.390 Kg, Opium=2.15.52 kgs, Heroine =1.911.800 kgs, Cocaine=6gm, Smack=26.580 Gram, Poppy husk=16.047 Kg, Ganja =125.966 kg, Charas oil Solid =2.792 kgs, Charas oil= 10.296 ltr. MDM=3 gm, LSD paper =595 No. LSD=20 gms, Methadone=2gms, Poppy/Opium Plants =33151, Cannabis Plants=9274 Nos. Poppy Doda =24.132 kg, Cap/Tab. =1404 Nos.  Syrup = 5 Bottle have been recovered as compared to 174 cases detected during its corresponding period of year 2016.

All SsP have been directed to take more pro-active actions against drunken driving, over speeding, and use of mobile phone and without proper Driving license etc. to prevent traffic accidents and to save valuable lives of the people.

 

During this year up to 30/06/2017 total 123429 challan under MV Act have been made in all district of this range and sum of Rs. 2,35,39,235/- have been realized as fine from violators. Besides, 1337 challan for Using Mobile Phone while driving, 474 challan for drunken driving and 1968 challan for over speeding have also been made during this period. All SsP have been directed to launch special campaigns against the violators of MV Act and take stringent action for driving the vehicles under the influence of alcohol/drugs under section 185 MV Act and for rash & negligent driving/over speeding u/s 184/183 MV Act. Furthermore, they have been directed to organize meetings with members of Road Safety Clubs and community Policing members, drivers etc. and launch Special Educative Campaigns to aware the general public. Action on the following points also be done:-  

 

1.      Display the boards regarding speed curves, black spots etc.

2.      Pamphlets be distributed in newspapers.

3.      Awareness in educational institutions.

4.      Awareness through Local media.

5.      Use low beam light while driving during night.

 

One month long special campaign to trace out the missing children is to be launched from 1st August, 2017. Therefore, all the SsP have been directed to make sincere efforts to trace out the missing children as per the SOP and directions issued by the PHQ.
