PRESS NOTE REGARDING MEETING ON MANDI PARLIAMENTRY BY ELECTION 2013

                                                        PRESS  NOTE

                        Meeting of Police officers including all SHos  posted in Mandi  District was convened in the Kamaksha Conference Hall, Police Line Mandi. The meeting was attended by IG Central Range  Sh. P.L. Thakur, SP Mandi Sh. R.S. Negi and other officers. The aim was to review the Police arrangements to be  made for the ensuing Parliamentary Bye election with regard to the security and  law & order arrangements  for  peaceful and fair conduct of  Bye election.

                         There are 9 Assembly Constituencies of Mandi District covered under Mandi Parliamentary constituency. There will be  967 Polling stations out of which 22 Polling stations have been declared as Hyper  Sensitive, 129 Sensitive and 816 as  ordinary Polling Stations. Under each Hyper Sensitive Polling Stations half section of CPMF +1 HHG, for each sensitive polling Station 1 NGO/HC +1 HHG will be deployed and for each ordinary  Polling Stations  1 constable and 1 HHG will be deployed.

                        Five  companies of CPMF have been demand for deployment in Hyper sensitive Polling Stations, Strong Rooms, Counting Centers etc. There will be 2 Counting Centers i.e. one at ITI building Mandi and another at Polytechnic College Sundernagar. The counting of votes in respect of Darang, Jogindernagar, Mandi, Balh, Sarkaghat constituency  will be in ITI building Mandi and counting of votes in respect of Karsog , Sundernagar, Nachan  and Seraj constituencies  will be done in Polytechnic College Sundernagar.

                        The empty as well as used EVMs will be stacked in Strong Room where CPMF personnel will be deployed in inner cordons and local Police in outer cordons for the safety and security of the EVMs. Total additional forces 63 NGO Grade-I, 1291 NGO Grade- II and 622 HHGs will be  required which will be made available to S.P. Mandi from other Districts/Units.

                                  Besides this, Police force will be deployed for the following :

(a)  Static Reserve Duty with Magistrates

(b)  Mobile Reserve Duty

(c)   Security with candidates and observers

(d)  Flying Squads for Expenditure monitoring

(e)   Static Surveillance teams for Expenditure monitoring

(f)    Guarding of distilleries

 

                        Mandi Police is completely prepared to ensure free, fair and peaceful conduct of the Bye Election.
