1. Today District Police Mandi organized an open half marathon (male/female) on the eve of International Shivratri Fair 2012 under Anti Smoking Campaign launched by the District Police Mandi under COTPA which was flagged off by Sh. C.P. Pandey, IFS, Conservator Forest Mandi, from historic Seri Munch who was the chief guest on this occasion and prizes were also distributed among the winners by the chief guest. In this event 213 participants (male = 194 & female= 19) were enrolled with us out of which 213 participants (male = 194 and female=19) participated in this event.
Names of winners in male category are as under:-
(a) Sh. Rakesh Kumar R/O Vill. Gora Gaggal PO Gaggal Tehsil Sadar Distt. Mandi at present serving in Indian Army. Secured 1st position and awarded with cash reward of ` 21,000/-.
(b) Sh. Dinesh Kumar VPO Annu Tehsil & Distt. Hamirpuur at present seving in H.P. Police Department. Secured 2nd position and awarded with cash reward of ` 15,000/-.
(c) Rakesh Kumar R/O VPO Passu Tehsil Dharmshala Distt. Kangra at present serving in H.P.Police Department. Secured 3rd position and awarded with `11,000/-.
In addition to above three prizes, following consolation prizes were also awarded in male category:- (i) Sh. Sudarshan of Dharmshala Army Cantonment secured 4th position and awarded with cash of ` 1000/-.
(ii) Sh. Sanjay Kumar R/O Raipali PO Chunahan Tehsil Sadar Distt. Mandi (HP) secured 5th position and awarded with cash of ` 1000/-.
(iii) Sh. Shiv Kumar VPO Patta Tehsil Bhoranj Distt. Hamirpur (HP) secured 6th position and awarded with cash of ` 1000/-.
(iv) Sh. Ashwani Kumar R/O Vill. Jalah PO Nalsar Tehsil sadar Distt. Mandi at present serving in H.P. Police department secured 7th position and awarded with cash of ` 1000/-.
(v) Sh. Balvinder R/O vill. Jhaler PO Ree Tehsil Sujnapur Distt. Hamirpur (HP) secured 8th position and awarded with cash of ` 1000/-.
(vi) Sh. Paramjeet R/O VPO Jahaniara Tehsil Sadar Distt. Hamirpur (HP) secured 9th position and awarded with cash of ` 1000/-.
(vii) Sh. Pradeep R/O Vill Annu Tehsil & Distt. Hamirpur (HP) secured 10th position and awarded with cash of ` 1000/-.

(b) Miss Manju Kumari R/O Mandir Tanda PO Lohara Tehsil Sadar Distt. Mandi (HP). Secured 2nd position and awarded with cash reward of ` 15,000/-.
(c) Miss Kanta R/O Vill. Kandhi PO Saraa Tehsil Chachiot Distt. Mandi (HP) Secured 3rd position and awarded with ` 11,000/-.

CASE OF GREVIOUS HURT
2. A case of hurt and insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace (case FIR No. 45/12 dated 18/02/12 U/S 325/323/504 IPC) has been registered in P.S. Balh on the complaint of Sh. Naresh Kumar S/O Sh. Bali Bhadar R/O Vill. Silahani PO Bhadrwar Tehsil Sarkaghat Distt. Mandi that on 27/12/11 he was in present in his shop, in the mean time Pal Singh S/O Sh. Raj Sharma R/O Kanyana came there and beat him. ASI Om Prakash I/C PP Rewalsar is investigating the case.
CASE OF ACCIDENT
3. A case of road accident (case FIR No. 14/12 dated 18/02/12 U/S 279 IPC & U/S 187 M.V. Act) has been registered in PS Aut on the complaint of Sh. Vijay Kumar S/O SH. Bhadur Singh R/O Vill. Nagnai Tehsil Padhar Distt. Mandi that on 18/02/12 he was going from Takoli towards Mandi by a jeep (HP34D-1200) and when he reached at Dawada a truck (HP24B-4797) came very rashly, hit his jeep and sped away from the spot and thereafter said truck after reaching Aut struck again with a rock and fell down on the road. ASI Lachhi Ram is investigating the case.
COMPLAINANT DAY AND ROAD SAFETY CLUB MEETING
4. Today a meeting with the members of the road safety club and drivers of taxis and trucks was held at PS Aut in which problem of parking of vehicles at Aut bazaar was discussed. A meeting under Community Policing Scheme was also held in PS Aut.

5. Today another meeting with the members of road safety club was also held in PS Sundernagar in which various issues regarding road safety club were discussed and these issues were also sorted out in this meeting. This Sunday was observed as complainant day and 6 persons visited the PS S and they were provided the brief status of their cases.
PREVENTIVE ARRESTS
6. Sunil Kumar S/O Sher Singh R/o Salot PO & Tehsil Padhar Distt Mandi HP at present residing at Suhra Muhalla Mandi and Manish Kumar S/O Ramesh Kumar R/o H NO 116/4 Suhra Muhalla Mandi have been arrested today by ASI Brij Lal I/O PS Sadar U/S 107/151 Cr.P.C. from Bus Stand Mandi who are being produced before court of SDM Mandi.
CHALLANS
7. Today 67 challan were issued and fine of Rs. 8,000/- was recovered under M.V. Act during the last 24 hours. 15 Challans were issued under Anti Smoking Campaign launched by District Police Mandi under COTPA.
